Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack Bids farewell to the Management and Staff of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation

Directors and staff of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation have been commended for their collective effort, dedication, hard work, and commitment to achieving the Ministry’s mission and vision and contributing towards the nation’s growth and development.
The commendation was made by the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, in a heartfelt valedictory speech at an emergency senior management meeting on Friday, January 12, 2024. This followed her recent redeployment to the Federal Ministry of Education, a move approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and issued by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Mrs. Folasade Yemi-Esan, on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Mrs. Walson-Jack reflected on her three-year tenure, acknowledging the privilege and honour of serving in the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation. She highlighted the accomplishments and milestones achieved under her leadership, crediting them to the team’s expertise, professionalism, and relentless spirit.
She thanked the Ministry’s staff for their outstanding contributions and friendship, expressed deep appreciation for the memories created and looked forward to witnessing its continued growth and success. She urged the Ministry’s Management team to continue their dedication and hard work in fulfilling its mandate, ensuring the effective management and utilisation of the nation’s Water Resources.
Mrs. Walson-Jack expressed confidence in the Ministry’s continued success under the leadership of the Hon. Minister, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev and the Hon. Minister of State, Rt. Hon. Mohammad Bello Goronyo Esq. She encouraged the team to extend the same cooperation to the incoming Permanent Secretary, Aliyu Shinkafi.
Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack expressed optimism about assuming her new responsibilities as the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, carrying the lessons learned and the shared values and experiences at the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation.
While acknowledging the news with mixed feelings, the Directors praised Mrs. Walson-Jack for her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Water and Sanitation Sector. They highlighted her accomplishments, expressed gratitude for her tireless efforts, and underscored her profound impact on staff through mentorship.
In eulogizing the hardworking Permanent Secretary, the Directors took turns speaking about her relentless dedication, impactful leadership, and positive influence over the past three years in the Water and Sanitation Sector, which have brought about enduring legacies.

The Directors acknowledged her profound impact and the inspiration she provided to make others better leaders, Managers, and Administrators. They all attested to learning significantly from her wealth of experience and concluded by offering prayers and best wishes for success in her new Ministry.
