Dr. Emanso Okop Umobong is a highly accomplished Medical Doctor and Pathologist, Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the International College of Surgeons. She previously served as Director at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, before her appointment as Permanent Secretary on July 10, 2024.

Her career includes key roles such as Deputy Secretary in Council at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, where she managed Federal Executive Council proceedings, and her deployment as Permanent Secretary to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation on November 19, 2025.

Dr. Umobong is recognized for her leadership in cancer prevention, clinical governance, and medical research. She is also passionate about reading, travel, and leisure activities. She is married with children.
